Since the publication of the official bulletin of the ministry of Agriculture September 25th, specifies that only 75 IGP stayed , against 153 local wines previously existed. Certain namings disappeared, the others emerged and the IGP benefits from now of territorial mentions.
Created in August, 2009, Intervins Sud -Est is the organisation of promotion and defense of wines with Geographical Indication Protected within the IGP Mediterranean Sea. It covers the territories of the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (6 départements: Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Alpes de Haute-Provence) and the region Rhône-Alpes (5 départements: the Rhône, the Loire, Isère, the Ardèche, the Drôme).
In figures Intervins Sud Est represent the actors that account for:
- 1,548 898 hectoliter production on 27 341 hectares in 2010,
900 particular cellars and 130 cellar cooperatives, 30 trade houses in region
12,5 % of the total production of wines of IGP in France.

If the specifications of the IGP are more flexible than those of the AOP, the IGP of the Southeast wished to preserve a control product on 100 % of wines or 100 % of the producers (i.e. beyond the threshold of national minimal control, nevertheless already fixed to 50 % of wines of 50 % of the producers of wines IGP).
